Night #52 - Egyptians On Deck

According to the great spoiler-y goodness of recently-released filming photos from the set of Night at the Museum 3, Ahkmenrah gets to make an appearance! And according to recently-released casting news, there are two other Egyptian characters on deck for this movie: a woman named Shepseheret and an as-yet-unnamed pharaoh. Thanks to ancient Egypt's incredibly long history, these two could literally be anybody. However, this is a Museum movie, and unless Museum 3 breaks with pattern, these two will be connected to Ahkmenrah in some way (especially since he's showing up, again), and by extension, they will be connected to his brother Kahmunrah.

But who are they? At this point, this question as many answers. The first is that the unnamed pharaoh is the father of the Brothers Egypt, and Shepseheret is their mother or a mother figure. The second is that the unnamed pharaoh is another Brother Egypt, and Shepseheret is a sister/wife/both to this man or to one of the Brothers Egypt (most likely the elder, Kahmunrah). The third is that the unnamed pharaoh is Kahmunrah's son (who may or may not have a beef with good ol' Uncle Ahkmenrah) and Shepseheret is a wife, sister, cousin, or any combination of those. Even considering the actors' ages (Sir Ben Kingsley is seventy and Anjali Jay (Shepseheret) is thirty-nine (don't tell her I said that)), any of these is still a possibility. This franchise is known for and able to pull people out of whatever time they come from. The pharaoh and Shepseheret could be from twenty years after Kahmunrah's death, twenty years before Kahmunrah's death, or they could be the couple presiding over the creation fo the tablet, thousands of years before the birth of Christ, or Ahkmenrah, for that matter.

There are an almost unimaginable number of possibilities for the time period from which these two new Egyptian characters come, their connection to the tablet, and their connection to the Brothers Egypt, and sadly we have to wait until the movie's release, or the trailers come out, to figure out exactly what relationship these two new Egyptians have to the tablet and our favorite brothers.

Next on "For the Love of Night at the Museum": I start yet another series, exploring all the alternate universes that exist for the fandom which have as little OC involvement as possible, and I will explain why.

Countdown: 319 Days to NATM 3
